ThatLife Terms of Use

Effective September 5, 2026

These terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The publisher is Kirk Philip Dickey Jr and the support contact is kaperboybusiness@gmail.com.

Game license

ThatLife grants a personal, limited, non-transferable license to use the game for entertainment. Do not copy, sell, reverse engineer, disrupt, automate, or exploit the game or Wire service except where law expressly permits.

Fictional content

ThatLife is a fictional game. In-game currency, products, businesses, messages, crimes, and characters have no cash value and do not authorize or encourage real-world illegal activity.

The Wire

The Wire is optional. Players are responsible for their chosen street name and must follow the Community Standards. A player who submits content represents that they have the rights needed to submit it and grants the publisher a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely to host, reproduce, display, filter, moderate, and otherwise use that content to operate and protect The Wire. This license ends when the Wire profile is deleted, except for temporary recovery copies and records retained for an active safety, appeal, fraud-prevention, or legal matter as described in the Privacy Policy.

City War is an optional asynchronous PvP competition built around repeatable Trap Raid and Block Hold play. It uses five city ownership fronts plus a separate County Line wildcard. County Line can affect rating, bounded Set influence, and tiebreaks, but it cannot become a city ownership front or alter local campaign property.

A separate optional Live City War mode provides real-time duels with equal starting health and weapons. Its server determines movement, hits, scores, and results. Public matchmaking may supply a visibly identified AI opponent when another player is unavailable. A mutual-friend challenge requires both friends to join. Leaving or losing a connection during an active duel may count as a loss. Live-duel career XP and records are separate from asynchronous city ownership and have no cash value.

City War has no energy, ticket, daily-attempt, or cooldown gate. Competitive matchmaking selects eligible real players first and allows one scored attacker-to-rival result per week; when that scored pool is exhausted, play may continue through an unscored real-player scrimmage before an unscored server ghost. Scrimmages and ghosts cannot affect rating, defense reputation, influence, standings, revenge, bounty, or another player. Positive preset commendations, Set rally signals, rival history, mastery, and cosmetics grant no competitive power or cash value. The service may invalidate suspicious results or adjust scoring and cosmetic status to protect fair play. Players must not automate fights, falsify execution data, manipulate accounts, trade wins, or exploit the client or service. Competition status and standings have no cash value.

In this version, repeat real-player rematches retain validated results without repeating the weekly competitive reward; named AI rival operations also offer local career progress. References above to unscored scrimmages or ghosts describe their lack of competitive influence, not an absence of all local history or rematch records.

Private social conversations

Players may use the Friends app for mutual-friend direct messages, private groups, and their existing Set's clan conversation. Community Standards and the Wire content license apply to group names and messages. Do not use these features for harassment, threats, impersonation, unlawful content, or sharing another person's private information. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized members can read and copy messages; blocking hides messages and reporting sends relevant content to moderation.

Group owners manage membership, members may leave, and clan access follows Set membership. Owners must remove other group members before leaving and closing their group. Sending and membership actions have service limits. Leaving does not erase old messages; message storage and account-deletion effects are described in the Privacy Policy.

The publisher may filter names, remove content, invalidate suspicious results, limit features, suspend, or ban accounts to protect players and the service. The Wire may change or be unavailable.

Purchases and ads

Remove Ads Forever is a non-consumable purchase handled by Apple and may be restored through the Apple account that acquired it. Prices, taxes, refunds, and payment processing are governed by Apple and applicable law. Optional rewarded ads grant only the stated in-game reward after successful completion; they do not grant real money.

Availability and saves

Local saves can be lost if the app is deleted, storage is cleared, or a device fails. Features are provided without a promise of uninterrupted availability to the extent allowed by law.

Termination and contact

A player may stop using the game at any time and delete a Wire profile in the app. Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension or termination of Wire access. Contact Support for questions or appeals.
